Our Story
Where the mapping of the brain meets the compass of the soul.
This collaboration was born from a shared realization: healing requires both the map of the brain and the compass of the soul.
Sonja Alina den Elzen and Rebekah Autumn Novak found their paths weaving together through a shared dedication to trauma recovery. They realized that while western psychology offers brilliant tools for understanding why we hurt, and eastern medicine offers profound practices for how to move energy, they are rarely taught in unison.
Ash to Altar is the integration of these worlds. It is the science of safety meeting the sacredness of ceremony.
Our Mission
"To support humans in remembering their wholeness, reclaiming their self-worth, and rising from survival into embodied flourishing."

Sonja Alina den Elzen, R.Ac
Daoist Emotional Alchemy
Sonja brings the ancient wisdom of Daoist medicine, where emotions are not problems to be solved but energy to be alchemized. With deep training in TCM acupuncture and somatic embodiment, she holds a container where the spirit can land safely back in the body.
Her work focuses on the "Shen" (Spirit) and using nature-based rituals to reconnect us to the cycles of life, death, and rebirth.

Rebekah Autumn Novak
MSc Neuropsychology, CCTP
Rebekah brings the clarity of neuroscience. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, she demystifies the "why" behind our survival responses. She teaches you to read your nervous system's map, reducing shame and increasing agency.
She bridges the gap between clinical understanding and the felt sense of safety, ensuring that healing is a physiological reality.
